Anna Rose Eskridge, age 83, departed this life from her home in Oliver Springs, TN on Sunday, October 10, 2010 at 8:17 AM.

She was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ and a long standing member of Little Leaf Baptist Church where she was a founder of the "Senior Saints" and also very involved with missionary activities. Mrs. Eskridge retired from Methodist Medical Center after 35 years working as a registered nurse.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Eskridge, Jr., by a daughter, Delores Coleman Steele, by parents, Clarence and Mattie Young Fritts, by brothers, Melvin and Lowell Fritts, by a sister-in-law, Beatrice Fritts and a brother-in-law, Bill Robinson.

She leaves to mourn her passing, a daughter, Vivian Smith and husband, Kenny of Knoxville, a son, Norman Eskridge and wife, Audrey of Jefferson City, sisters; Hazel Robinson and Margaret Harris and husband, Johnny of Oliver Springs, brothers; Ronald Fritts and Curtis Fritts and wife, Teresa of Oliver Springs and Robert Fritts and wife, Betty of Nashville, by eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, and friends, especially Willie James Brooks of Oliver Springs who faithfully responded to calls for help for many years.

The family will receive friends Saturday, October 16, 2010 between the hours of 11:00 am and 1:00 pm at Little Leaf Baptist Church. The funeral will follow at 1:00 pm at the church with Elder Thomas Dews officiating. Burial and graveside services will follow at the Oak Ridge Memorial Park. Sharp Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. An online guest book is available at
