James P. Morris (Jim) passed away January 8th, 2020 at Methodist Medical, from bladder cancer, surrounded by family and friends.
Jim was born in Morgan County, the son of William F. Morris and Mary M Justice. Jim attended Central High school (class of 1962). Where he completed his vocational program in electronics. Jim then furthered his education at the University of Tennessee. Jim became a member of IBEW and dedicated over 50 years of service. Jim knowledge would take him on his journey to New York City and Ohio. It would be there that he worked on subway signals, television studio lighting, auto and industrial systems. Jim would continue his electrical work while he pursued and accomplished his dream of becoming an Owner Operator of his semi trucking service. The years of traveling for work allowed Jim to make friends everywhere he went. Jim never met a stranger.
Jim is survived by one sister Susan Bustamante, one half sister Mona Glover, two children son James P. Morris II (Camille) of Michigan, daughter Marlena Ballis, (Steven Mclafferty) of Indiana. Grandchildren Jatayla Morris, LaShawna Edgemond, Rebecca Christina, and Christopher Ballis, Chapman and Grace Morris, along with 2 great-grandchildren. and by fiance, Trula Justice of Oliver Springs.
Jim is proceeded in death by his father and mother William F. Morris and Mary M. Justice, two sons Jody and Jeffery Morris, and three half-sisters Burnette Akers, Amaryllis Van Hoy and Billie Noel.
