JL Dickey, age 67 of Harriman, passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at his home.

He was born on March 20, 1952 in Cleveland, TN and was raised in Dickey Valley. JL served in the US Army earning the rank of Specialist. He worked as a surveyor and worked construction in this area for many years. Later, he retired as a serviceman from Powell Clinch Utility District after 15 years of service. JL was a member of Pine Ridge Baptist Church in Harriman.

JL was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Joyce Dickey and by brother, Gary Dickey and his wife, June.

Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Vickie Smith Dickey; children, David Dickey and his wife Elise of Clinton; sisters, Linda Dickey of Oak Ridge and Judy Dickey of Harriman; grandchildren, Kynedi Dickey, Logan Dickey, and Daegyn Dickey; brothers-in-law, Greg Smith and his wife Brenda of Clinton, Brent Smith and his wife Ann of Brentwood, TN; sister-in-law, Donna Nolten and her husband Jeff of San Diego, CA ; nephews, Jeffrey Stanley and his wife Tamera of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Gary Smith of Harriman, Andy Smith and Adam Smith both of Brentwood, TN; niece, Allison Jones of San Diego, CA; great-nieces, Caitlyn Stanley and Kate Jones.

A Celebration of Life service will be held from 3-5 pm at the DAV Tri-County Chapter 26 building at 530 Kingston Ave., Oliver Springs, TN on Saturday, February 22, 2020.
