Terri Nelson Hensley, age 59, passed away on January 8, 2021, at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
She was born on February 23, 1961 in Oak Ridge, TN. In 1979, Terri graduated from Oliver Springs High School where she was the Bobcat Mascot. In high school, she met the love of her life, Randy Hensley and they were married in May 1985. She started working December 1984 and retired after 30 years of service from ORNL in the High Temperature Materials Lab. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized at Community Baptist Church in Oliver Springs where she was a longtime member. Terri would volunteer at the Norwood Boys Club and she loved cats, quilts, crafting, attending flea markets and yard sales where she collected many things. She was a faithful and devoted fan of the Tennessee Volunteers and the Oliver Springs youth ball teams.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Margaret Nelson; nephews, Raymond Nelson and Chriz Parker; and mother-in-law, Evelyn Neal Hensley. She was also preceded in death by aunts and uncles, Lucille and Bill Marlow, Della and Jack Collier, Raymond and Bonnie Dishman, John (J.W.) Dishman, Steve Dishman, John Grissom, Ruby Dishman, Lonas Freels, and Linda Miles.
Terri is survived by her loving and caring husband of 36 years, Randy Hensley; brother, David Nelson; sister-in-law, Becky and Richard Parker; father-in-law, Wilburn Hensley; nephews, Michael Nelson, Jeremiah and Madeline Parker, Jonathan Parker, and Michael and Brandy Corley; nieces, Chelsey and Carlos Avila, Angel and Caleb Uren, Nikki Parker; great niece and nephew, Layla and Legend Avila; aunts and uncles, Thelma Grissom, Dianna Dishman, Sherry and Gary Samples, Kathy and Bobby Wise, Wayne Dishman, Beverly Dishman, Debbie Dishman, Ethel Justice and Bessie Gilmore; a special person (considered an aunt), Kathy Jones; special cousins, Jannice Clark, Elaine Hurst, and Theresa Lewis; special friends, Justin Tallent, Devin Ely, Roger White, and Michael Bowling; numerous cousins, extended family members, special friends and a host of special co-workers from ORNL (HTML).
The family would like to thank Dr. Brian Christiansen and his staff at Arches Foot Care and the health care workers at Patricia Neal Rehab Center.

Visitation will from 12:00-1:30 pm on Friday, January 15, 2021 at Premier Sharp Funeral Home. Funeral service will begin at 1:30 pm with Rev. Luke Kidwell officiating. Terri will be laid to rest at Anderson Memorial Gardens.
